"I wanted to write Incredible Girl, first because I'm a big believer in the idea that too many problems are caused by people being ashamed or afraid to honestly express what they want and need, and I wanted to explore that idea. The best way to do it was to set it in communities of extremes - the Baptist community, and the BDSM community - each of which encourages a life philosophy, and each of which, when carried too far, can be detrimental to its members. But, when participated in with love, can give their members so much.
As I wrote the episodes, something else came up - the idea of love, and what it means (and what it doesn't mean). I believe that the best decisions are made in love, and that love means that you're willing to choose the thing that's best for the person you love, even if it doesn't get you what you want. This is something else I wanted to explore through Incredible Girl. And I think we see it throughout this story.
As for what I hope to accomplish with this web series, I hope that it starts conversations - between parents and kids, between lovers, or between friends. I hope it will encourage people to be more honest with themselves and the people they care about. In short, I hope that it will be one step toward a more open, honest, loving world."

"Incredible Girl is a series based on my short film with the same title. In that film I looked at the moment of change in a person's life. I wanted to see the force that causes a change and the moment a person decides to let that change happen. (You can see an article here that goes more in depth.)
Because viewers kept saying they wanted to see what happens next, I had it in the back of my mind to continue the story. When I met Teresa, I knew she was the person to continue the story with. The series picks up the film's themes about breaking free from the norm and being bold in your own skin even if it doesn't work for the people around you. It's about taking ownership of your life, pushing your own boundaries and doing things that scare you. The more people we see living like this, the more it gives us permission to be that way too. It's a series made to inspire, enflame and titilate someone to get up and do something instead of lurking in the shadows hoping one day something interesting will happen. It's also a project about radical acceptance of things we may not like about ourselves or others. I know this has been something I've grappled with (and continue to do so) and I do believe our viewers will be able to connect because of that.
I love this project. I think we're doing something beautiful here."
